The 10th anniversary of “One World Week" at Warwick University took place from the 22nd to 30th January 2010. This is the “World’s Largest Student-run International Event. A diverse number of events were taking place, just one of which was each day a different artist was showing their work and LSA member Dorothy Biddle was invited to take part and exhibit two of her works on Tuesday 22nd January. The works on view were:-
“Make your Bed”
“Feed the World”
What is Nature?
All forms are matter at varying times, return eventually back to changing ‘nature’.
My intention is to represent the two sides of the argument for and against genetic modification. Manipulation of materials into synthetic shapes represents irreversible changes in growth and form to natural processes and the other side of the argument accepting the scientific route to the problem of feeding the world’s ever increasing population.
